About this role

Job summary The Community Rehabilitation Service is an award winning service provided by Second Step in partnership with Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust and Missing Link. Shaped by people who have used mental health services, the Community Rehabilitation Service gives people the support they need to achieve their hopes and goals. We are passionate about recovery and the service is psychologically and trauma informed. The post will be based at Wellbridge House, our accommodation service in Brentry.

Main duties of the job In your role as Assistant Recovery Navigator you will work collaboratively with people with long-term mental health and complex needs. All of our work is person-centred, supporting people to gain the skills and confidence to live as independently as possible in the community. Assistant Recovery Navigators work collaboratively with a multi-professional team, to deliver social and clinical interventions tailored to individuals cultural and social needs.

Job description Job responsibilities Ensure that all services are delivered in a warm and welcoming way, demonstrating ambition and hope for all service users.

Build trusting and collaborative relationships with service users.

Carry out role adhering to Second Steps policies, procedures, values, code of conduct and current legislation using a Recovery orientated, psychologically and trauma informed, equalities based approach.

Maintain regular contact with service users and provide practical support and assistance as appropriate.

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Experience of working with vulnerable people either in a paid or voluntary capacity Experience of managing competing needs and priorities

Desirable

Proven experience of mental health issues and/or services, either as a user, carer or supporter

Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
