Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for one of our experienced, compassionate and committed registered nurses to progress to become the Clinical Lead Nurse. We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic individual to lead our dedicated team of nurses in delivering excellent standards of care.
We are an 80-bedded, purpose built facility providing a comprehensive range of services. This includes long term residential and nursing care services, re-ablement and respite services, the Cedar Unit for end of life and day services for older people. We aim to provide the highest quality of health and social care services to residents who live across South Tyneside.
Haven Court provides a friendly caring environment for older people, where they are treated with respect, courtesy and dignity. Our professional team of staff have put the needs of the residents and their carers first whilst fully involving them in their care planning.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will lead the nursing team in providing high quality care for our residents on a daily basis, whilst being involved in teaching, service development and innovation. You will need to demonstrate proven leadership ability, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and believe in getting results through positive team-working.
The successful candidate will have current NMC registration and have successfully completed a degree programme in nursing or associated specialities. If not already achieved, the successful candidate must be willing to undertake a Clinical Skills qualification and Non-Medical Prescribing Course.
You will be flexible to meet the needs of the service and be able to meet the requirements of the shift pattern which includes a combination of earlies, lates, long days and night shifts, if required. The roster covers 7 days of the week.

Job description Job responsibilities
To support the Deputy Home Manager in leading and co-ordinating a group of staff within a defined clinical area to deliver high standards of resident focused care; and being capable of deputising for the Deputy Home Manager during periods of absence.
To ensure the fundamental aspects of resident care are central to the team, that resident safety is addressed and by creating an environment where the resident experience is positive.
To assist the Deputy Home Manager in ensuring the organisations business objectives targets are achieved.
To undertake specified lead roles as described below:-
Education / quality lead:
To lead the education and professional / career development of staff; within the clinical area; including pre and post registration students to ensure delivery of high quality care. This includes the requirement to act as a positive role model and lead mentor, promoting and maintaining the quality of the learning environment.
Clinical practice / quality lead:
To take a lead in ensuring evidence based clinical practice is implemented and monitored within the clinical area, to support a philosophy of continuous quality improvement. This includes the requirement to act as a positive role model and leader of infection prevention and control practice and all that this encompasses.
