Are you an experienced Electrician looking for a rewarding role where your expertise helps support vital healthcare services across a large and diverse NHS estate?
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Electrician to join our Estates & Facilities Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining, improving and developing electrical infrastructure across Trust sites, ensuring safe, reliable and compliant services for patients, staff and visitors.
As a recognised Electrician you will lead on electrical maintenance activities, support small projects, provide technical expertise and contribute to the ongoing resilience and development of our estate.
Working Pattern
Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00 1 week in 6 on-call rota, providing 24/7 emergency support as part of the Estates team
Main duties of the job
Act as the Trust's Electrical Authorised Person for low voltage electrical systems. Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a wide range of electrical systems. Assess the condition of existing electrical infrastructure and make recommendations for upgrades and improvements. Deliver small electrical installation projects from planning through to completion. Diagnose and repair faults on complex building services systems. Issue permits to work and ensure compliance with relevant HTM guidance and statutory regulations. Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues and contractors. Participate in the Trust's out-of-hours emergency on-call service.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
. Course 232 in Electrical and Electronic Craft Studies, Part 2 (232-2). . Or, . Course 236 in Electrical Installation Work, Part 2 (236-2). . Or, . An equivalent qualification such as NVQ Level 3 in a relevant Electrical Engineering. . Or, . BTEC/ONC in Electrical Engineering . Knowledge of national Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
Experience Essential
Extensive experience of electrical installation work. Experience in the analysis of method statements Highly developed trade skills to ensure high quality electrical installations and repairs Experience of planning and organising complex electrical activities which may involve electrical shutdown and interruption to services.
Knowledge Essential
Significant practical and theoretical building structure and fabric knowledge including asbestos awareness
