Job summary
Oxford Pharmacy Store (OPS), an NHS-owned pharmaceutical wholesaler, is seeking a proactive and reliable Warehouse Caretaker to support the safe, secure and efficient operation of our warehouse facility in Banbury.
This is a hands-on role responsible for coordinating site caretaking and facilities activities, ensuring the warehouse remains compliant, well-maintained and fit for operational use. You will work closely with internal teams, contractors and Trust support services to maintain high standards of health, safety and security across the site.

The role is based in Banbury, Oxfordshire.
Main duties of the job
To support the day-to-day caretaking and safe running of the warehouse site. To act as Health and Safety Officer for the site, supporting compliance with local procedures and Trust policies. To coordinate the cleaning contract and oversee the day-to-day delivery of cleaning services, including liaison with appointed providers. To coordinate pest control arrangements and ensure any issues are reported, monitored and followed up To arrange, monitor and oversee maintenance activity for key site equipment, including forklifts, pallet trucks, MEWPs, air-conditioning units and fridges, working with relevant colleagues where required To coordinate servicing, maintenance and issue resolution for fire alarms, intruder alarms, fire extinguishers and related site safety systems.

Person Specification
Knowledge Requirements Essential
Understanding of health and safety requirements in a warehouse, stores, facilities or operational environment Understanding of the importance of site security, accurate checks, safe working practices and timely reporting of defects.
Desirable
Understanding of Good Distribution Practice and pharmaceutical warehouse requirements.
Qualifications - Academic/Skills/ Professional Essential
Demonstrable IT skills, including ability to use Microsoft 365 or equivalent systems.
Experience Essential
Experience in a warehouse, caretaking, facilities, stores, maintenance coordination or similar operational environment. Experience carrying out routine site checks and escalating faults or risks.
Desirable
Experience working in the NHS, pharmaceutical distribution, regulated warehouse or healthcare environment.
