We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our supportive clinical team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care and enjoys working in a busy primary care setting. The successful candidate will support our clinicians by undertaking a range of clinical duties, promoting health and wellbeing, and helping to ensure patients receive a positive experience at every stage of their care.

Main duties of the job
The following are the core responsibilities of the HCA. However, there may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staff levels:-
* Phlebotomy
* Long term condition health checks
* NHS health checks
* ECG recording
* Blood pressure monitoring
* Administering flu vaccinations
* Home visits - Carehomes/Housebound
* Chaperoning duties
* Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses
* Prepare, maintain environments and equipment before, during and after patient care
* Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
* Participate in training to meet the needs of the practice
* Attend target events appropriate to job
- Carry out BMI checks as directed
About us
Lingwell Croft Surgery was founded in 1946
The building has been extended over the years and has had several refurbishments to offer excellent access for elderly, infirm and disabled patients.
The surgery is located in Middleton, an inner-city district of South Leeds. We are only a short distance from the major junctions of the M1, M62 and A1-M1 link and the A6120 Leeds outer Ring Road, allowing access from locations around Yorkshire and beyond. Leeds city centre is within 5 miles of the surgery. Several shopping centres are close by.
The clinical staff are backed up by an experienced administration team who consist of our secretarial department, our coding department, IT and our team of receptionists.

Qualifications Essential
Experience of working in Primary or Secondary care General education GCSEs or equivalent A to C in English and Maths Qualified in Phlebotomy Certificates relating to professional areas of the role Good clear and confidence communicator Good standard of literacy Ability to work under pressure and prioritise own workload
Skills/Abilities Essential
