About this role

• Job Summary

Responsible for storing and distributing medical supplies to patient care areas throughout the organization. Utilizes a moderately complex computer inventory system to process inventory transactions timely and accurately. Interacts with healthcare professionals throughout the organization to fulfill supply needs and resolve supply-related issues.

Essential Functions

- Answers and returns phone call and email inquiries.

- Checks stock in units and restocks depleted items.

- Orders and assembles supplies for patient care areas.

- Delivers supplies to patient care areas.

- Assists patient care staff with identification of supply needs.

- Stores incoming freight following established FIFO (First-In, First-Out) methods, ensuring proper supply rotation.

- Checks for outdated supplies in Materials Management and manages appropriately.

- Resolves basic inventory discrepancies.

Other Duties

- Assumes responsibilities of absent team members as needed.

- Participates in department physical inventory counts.

- Participates in departmental and association wide informational meetings and in-services, including staff meetings, association wide forums, and seminars.

- Reviews department and association wide policies and procedures annually, or as required by the organization.

Abilities

- Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English

- Able to operate a pallet jack

- Proficient in standard office software and applications, including:

- MMIS (Materials Management Information System)

- Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

- Internet

- Service-oriented attitude with excellent customer service skills

- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail

- Ability to manage multiple priorities

- Strong interpersonal skills

- Time management skills

- Ability to prioritize work assignments

- Excellent telephone and email etiquette

Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

Physical Demands

Exerts 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

OSHA Exposure Category:

Involves no regular exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, and tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and are not a condition of employment.
