FS Shop Technician

What is a Shop Technician? The FS Shop Technician's primary function is to maintain, diagnose, and repair Downing's proprietary Freedom Series equipment, which includes but is not limited to FS Valves, iControl Skids, and Control Centers.
In this role, you will: • Train to become proficient and competent with Downing's proprietary FS equipment • Be evaluated periodically on knowledge of the FS equipment to establish competency level • Disassemble, assemble, inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair FS equipment • Hydrostatic pressure test equipment to API standards • Read and interpret electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings • Read and follow documented processes and procedures • Pressure wash, grease, and paint Downing owned equipment • Control and maintain all hand and power tools in an operational condition • Support inventory control processes to ensure all parts are properly relieved • Maintain and document accurate records of repairs and maintenance on equipment • Effectively communicate issues and concerns to management • Maintain a tidy work area with good housekeeping practices • Perform duties for QHSE as related to safety and quality, training of personnel, safety & quality reports, logs, etc. • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Required and Preferred Experience: • Minimum 1 year of electrical and mechanical aptitude required • Ability to read and comprehend documented processes and procedures • Basic computer knowledge preferred
Work Environment and Physical Requirements: • Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear, use hands to manipulate with fingers, handle or feel, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, reach with hands and arms • Occasionally required to sit, work in wet, humid conditions (non-weather), fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, hot (non-weather), and risk of radiation • Lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. - SEF Energy employees shall not manually lift an item weighing more than 50 lbs., they shall utilize mechanical assist devices (forklift, crane, hand truck, etc.). If mechanical assist devices are not available, utilize a team lift. • Work near moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places, outdoor weather conditions and risk of electrical shock • Ability to see at a close distance (clear vision at 20 inches or less), at a long distance (clear vision at 20 feet or more), identify and distinguish colors, observe an area that can be seen up and down or left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point, adjust focus (adjust the eye to brin an object into sharp focus) • Moderate noise level
Education: • High school diploma or equivalent - this requirement may be waived if the applicant possesses two years of related experience and/or training
