About this role
Key Responsibilities
• Set up and operate gear-cutting equipment such as hobbing, shaping, grinding, and CNC machines.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Manufacture precision gears including spur, helical, bevel, and worm gears.
• Measure and inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision instruments.
• Perform machine adjustments to maintain product quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary corrections.
• Conduct routine machine maintenance and keep equipment in good working condition.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
• Record production and quality-control information.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational training preferred.
• Experience operating CNC and manual machining equipment.
• Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of gear manufacturing processes and machining techniques.
• Familiarity with precision measuring tools.
• Good math, problem-solving, and mechanical aptitude.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• 10+ years of experience in CNC gear cutting.
