Position Summary & Objective:
The EMT I role provides hands‑on support for basic troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and equipment setup while building foundational knowledge across mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
Essential Functions Performed by the Position:
Individual:
• Perform routine preventive maintenance.
• Assist with mechanical assembly, wiring, installation.
• Execute troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and basic HVAC.
• Setting of sensors.
• Support calibrations and testing.
• Maintain documentation.
• Ensures a safe and healthy workplace, including the promotion of the environmental, health and safety standards, integrated management systems and any other relevant initiatives.
• Report and contribute to resolving Safety and Security near miss reports.
Division:
• Support the leadership team, executing the strategy for Authentication in terms of the Lines of Business, namely I&V, GRS and Prod Auth & Lic.
• Support and follow the governance and operational disciplines applicable across the division.
• Contribute to deliver to customer OTIF, without compromising Quality.
• Embrace Crane Business Systems and Shared Values.
Common to all roles:

Position Qualifications:
Education:
• MQF level 3: Diploma or Certificate in Mechatronics.
Experience:
• 1–2 years in a similar role.
Language Proficiency:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English – Proficiency C1 or higher.
Training Requirements:
• Mandatory: Safety, LOTO, basic mechanical/electrical training, Electrical Installation Authorisation A, use of forklifts, stackers and motorised elevating platforms.
• Recommended: Introductory PLC and Lean basics.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, ideally on FMCG producing machines.
• Fundamentals of sensors, actuators and circuits.
• Awareness of industrial safety standards.
• Basic use of hand tools and measurement instruments.
• Ability to follow technical instructions.
• Entry-level troubleshooting.
• Ability to learn quickly.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team.
• Strong attention to detail.
• The ideal applicant will have a good working knowledge of plc and automation.
Career Progression:
• EMTII, EMTIII, or AME.
Working Hours and Conditions:
• Working hours and shift schedules to be changed according to the requirements of the business.
• Shopfloor Environment.
Physical Characteristics and Demands:
• Need to be able to handle 25kg loads where necessary and according to HSE best practice.
• Ability to identify visual displays on diverse backgrounds.
