QUALITY
• Obtain the proper paperwork and trailer with the load they are assigned.
• Compare load to paperwork to ensure that the load is not short or long product before departing facility.
• Cooperate with customers and handle required delivery paperwork.
• Follow the process procedures in loading and unloading steel and supplies from the trailer.
DELIVERY OF MATERIALS
• Deliver product as dispatched.
• Assist customer with unloading the product, as needed
• May be asked to do minor repairs to the tractor and trailer such as changing light bulbs, wiper blades etc.
• May be required to stay out overnight as needed. This will be based on the specific runs and dispatching needs.
• May be required to drive 11 hours. The amount of driving will be determined by route and destination.
• Will have to push or pull on tarps, chains, binders and bundles.
• Shall climb in and out of the truck cab several times during the day.
• In accordance with the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, 4th edition, 1991, and NIM's job analysis, the physical demand of a driver is heavy. The essential job function of the driver is lifting materials from 50 to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 lbs. of force constantly.
OTHER DUTIES
• Will maintain the inside and outside cleanliness of the assigned tractor.
• Must follow all company conduct and safety rules and DOT regulations.
