Machine Operator I @ MWI

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

· Operate various machines within the cell

· Makes minor adjustment as necessary or notify Lead person or Setup person if a more significant adjustment is required

· Maintains a clean machine and organized work area.

· Performs preventative maintenance including lubricating machines when needed

· Makes minor repairs and notifies maintenance for other maintenance needs.

· Performs variety of tasks such as counting, cleaning, returning gauges and fixtures, transferring of parts

· Use measuring equipment to maintain close tolerances

· Follows schedules and procedures

· Adaptable to cell and team concepts as well as cross-training

· Sees that all safety guards are in place and in good condition

· Assists other operators if necessary

· Inspects work in progress using equipment necessary and outlined in Quality or work instructions. Responsible for quality of own work

· Forklift (i.e. powered industrial truck) operation.

· All other duties as assigned

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

· Must be proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, specification sheets, and/or mechanical drawings and in precision measurement or become proficient through training.

· Computer literacy

· Capable of using measuring instruments, i.e. micrometer, calipers, height gauge, etc.

· Capable of using hand tools (i.e. screwdriver, wrenches etc.)

· Ability to read and write, perform basic arithmetic and follow verbal and written instructions.
