About this role

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Responds promptly to all request for patient care as directed. • Completes documentation and records according to department and state policies. • Ensures vehicle and equipment are ready for responses at all times. • Performs assigned duties in the emergency department under the supervision of the Emergency Room Nurse, Physician, and/or Supervisor. • Acts as a team leader when dealing with emergency responses. • Takes proper care of the vehicle and equipment. • Pursues new levels in paramedicine technology and participates in activities, which contribute to professional growth and development. • Participates in community activities, which improve the public's understanding of the EMS system. • Attends and completes all required safety and annual training requirements as assigned. • Follows the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens. • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment. • Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department inter- and intra- departmentally to facilitate the department's ability to meet its goals and objectives.

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Perform other duties as assigned.

Professional Requirements: • Complete annual education requirements. • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times. • Report to work on time and as scheduled. • Wear identification while on duty. • Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations. • Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times. • Comply with all organizational policies. • Conduct oneself as a professional in accordance with PRIDE values. • Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities. • Attend regular staff meetings and in-services.

Job Requirements: • Current Paramedic state certification. • Minimum of two years full-time experience as a provider of prehospital care. • Current certification in CPR, American Heart Association Healthcare Provider or American Red Cross CPR for the professional rescuer. • Current certification in advanced cardiac life support, American Heart Association. • Current motor vehicle operators state license.
