Credence is seeking a Communication Specialist supporting the Public Affairs organization of the United States Space Force (USSF), Space Systems Command’s (SSC) Command Staff Support contract.

Developing a thorough understanding of space acquisition goals, programs, Command priorities, and Public Affairs processesResearch, write and edit long-form feature articles for a variety of communication channels including placement in earned media: identifying and interviewing subject matter experts to be quoted in articles, identifying or leading the development of graphicsCover events (attend, take notes, conduct interviews, coordinate photography) and write news stories for website publication within one week of eventAd hoc copywriting for press releases, social media posts, speeches, video scripts, brochures, fact sheets, by-lines, and presentations. Manage content approval process to ensure content is factually accurate and parties quoted review and validate contentAssist Public Affairs Officers with processes involving speaking engagements, media engagements, media prep, talking points, and security and policy reviewsAssist Deputy Director with key event planning, including pitching speaker opportunities, managing logistics, supporting with presence at event, including booth manningAssist Strategic Communication Content Lead in all aspects of planning, production and executionCollaborate across Public Affairs team to provide support as well as initiate suggestions to drive communication and messaging resultsContribute to monthly rotation of daily media coverage compilationsProactively identify opportunities to improve processes, create communication products, and develop initiatives and solutions to 1) maximize connections with USSF and SSC stakeholders 2) share examples of SSC’s role in acquisition transformation as the acquisition command within USSF and 3) support the USSF and SSC mission, portfolios and programsRequirements
U.S. citizenship is required. Active security preferred. Eligibility to obtain a secret clearance is requiredExceptional written and verbal communication skillsExperience researching, writing, editing, and reviewing communications productsExperience developing speeches, articles, briefings, , media releases, and strategic communications materialsAbility to analyze complex information and present it clearly to diverse audiencesExperience planning and supporting conferences, events, and public affairs activitiesExperience coordinating visual communications and graphicsWorking knowledge of Associated Press (AP) styleProficiency with Microsoft 360 applicationsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyExceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality deliverablesAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively within integrated Government and contractor teamsAbility to handle sensitive information appropriately and comply with Government communications approval processes
Full salary range for this position is $125,000 to $ 160,000 per year, with the starting salary determined based on the candidate’s knowledge, skills, and experience.
