About this role
Tapping Technicians provide effective maintenance and operation for water and wastewater utilities. The Tapping Technicians travel out of town. Role Responsibilities • Field work involving the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground water mains and tapping water mains • Independent travel to multiple worksites utilizing service trucks or equipment • Performs line stops, wet taps, and valve insertions utilizing different pipe types and products. • Breakdown and setup of line stops, tapping, and valve inserting equipment. • Performing and assisting in shop duties as necessary • Work within confined spaces (trench boxes, excavations, tunnels, and mechanical rooms) • Prepare and/or complete work orders and safety sheets • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
