Help Families Access Essential Energy and Support Services East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is seeking a compassionate, organized, and community-focused Family Advocate - LIHEAP/Safety Net to support individuals and families in accessing vital energy assistance and stabilization services. In this role, you'll help clients navigate the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and other support programs by conducting assessments, determining eligibility, providing referrals, coordinating services, and connecting families with valuable resources throughout the community. Your work will directly contribute to helping households maintain stability while empowering clients to achieve long-term success. Job Description The Family Advocate - LIHEAP/Safety Net serves as a key resource for individuals and families seeking assistance through LIHEAP and other EBCAP initiatives. This position conducts client intake, evaluates eligibility, provides case support, coordinates referrals, and promotes awareness of available services. The role also supports outreach initiatives, data reporting, and collaboration across programs to ensure clients receive comprehensive assistance tailored to their needs. Client Support & Case Coordination Conduct intake appointments and determine eligibility for LIHEAP services. Complete assessments that identify client needs, challenges, and opportunities for support. Connect individuals and families with EBCAP programs, public benefits, and community resources. Assist clients with problem-solving strategies that promote long-term stability and self-sufficiency. Maintain accurate case records and documentation. Outreach & Community Engagement Conduct outreach activities to increase awareness of LIHEAP and available community resources. Provide services and support within community-based locations as assigned. Promote EBCAP programs and assist with referral coordination across departments. Build collaborative relationships with community partners to increase access to services. Program Administration & Reporting Enter and maintain accurate client information and program data. Prepare productivity reports and support required program reporting activities. Ensure compliance with LIHEAP guidelines, program requirements, and agency standards. Assist in promoting participation and engagement in EBCAP services. Team Collaboration & Additional Support Participate in Family Center and agency coverage rotations as needed. Attend staff meetings, trainings, conferences, and professional development opportunities. Support food pantry operations and other community-based initiatives when assigned. Perform additional duties that support efficient program operations and client service delivery.
