Job Summary The Main Grade Lecturer – Fashion (0.5 FTE) plays a key role within the Creative Industries Department , delivering high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across Fashion programmes. The role combines classroom delivery with Course Leadership responsibility for one year group and Personal Tutoring , ensuring learners achieve their full potential and progress successfully into higher education, employment or apprenticeships. Working closely with colleagues, employers and industry partners, the post holder will maintain a contemporary and industry-relevant curriculum that develops learners' creative, technical and professional skills. The role has a direct impact on learner achievement, attendance, retention, progression and overall learner experience. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across Fashion programmes, ensuring lessons are engaging, inclusive and aligned to current industry practice. Enable excellent learner outcomes by planning and delivering inspiring lessons that develop creative, technical and employability skills. Act as Course Leader for a designated year group , coordinating programme delivery and supporting curriculum quality and continuous improvement. Monitor learner progress, attendance, punctuality and achievement, implementing timely interventions where required. Act as Personal Tutor , providing pastoral support, conducting progress reviews and promoting learner wellbeing and success. Maintain high standards of assessment practice, providing timely and constructive feedback and ensuring compliance with awarding body requirements. Contribute to quality assurance processes including internal verification, standardisation, self-assessment and quality improvement planning. Develop and maintain strong employer, university and industry links that enrich the learner experience and support progression opportunities. Organise and support live briefs, exhibitions, competitions, enrichment activities and employer engagement projects. Promote a culture of professionalism, creativity, safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion throughout the learner journey. Work collaboratively with colleagues to support recruitment, enrolment, open events, internal progression activities and curriculum development. The role may require occasional evening and weekend working to support exhibitions, open days, employer engagement and other College events.
