IT operations play a central role, connecting digital capabilities to the firm’s objectives and creating a solid foundation for continued success. About the Role: Arthur Cox is looking to hire an experienced Infrastructure and Cloud support engineer to join their growing IT operations team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining, supporting, and enhancing the firm’s core technology platforms. This includes on‑premises infrastructure, cloud services, networks, storage, virtualization, and core compute environments. A key element of the role will be supporting the firm's telecommunications environment while contributing to the strategic roadmap to modernise communications services. This will include maintaining and optimising the existing telephony platform, assisting with the migration of services to cloud-based telephony solutions, and supporting the gradual decommissioning of legacy telephony infrastructure as part of a broader cloud-first strategy. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across multidisciplinary IT teams including cloud, security, service desk, and applications to deliver stable, secure, and scalable infrastructure services. This role also involves direct interaction with managed service providers to support smooth business operations and ongoing digital transformation initiatives. Infrastructure/Microsoft 365 Management & Operations: Maintain, configure and support infrastructure and cloud services: - M365 (MS-Teams, Exchange Online and OneDrive. - On-prem servers, storage, virtualization platforms, and core network. Administer Entra ID, Conditional Access policies, MFA, and device compliance. Monitor system performance, service health, capacity, and availability; implement improvements to ensure reliability and resilience. Troubleshoot complex technical issues and serve as an escalation point for Tier 1 teams. Troubleshoot hardware issues and coordinate repairs or replacements where required. Perform regular patching, updates, and configuration changes in line with change management processes. Telephony & Unified Communications: Support and administer the firm's Unified communications platforms, including on-prem and cloud-based voice, messaging, conferencing, and collaboration services. Manage and support Microsoft Teams Phone, Direct Routing, Operator Connect and other UCaaS services as applicable. Ensure the availability, performance, and security of unified communication platforms across office and remote working environments. Contribute to the firm's telephony modernisation programme, including the migration of services from on-premises platforms to cloud-based telephony solutions. Assist with the phased decommissioning of legacy telephony infrastructure, ensuring minimal business disruption. WAN Infrastructure Support the firm's Wide Area Network infrastructure, ensuring reliable and secure connectivity between offices, data centres, cloud platforms, and third-party services. Assist with WAN modernisation initiatives, including cloud connectivity, SD-WAN optimisation, and enhanced remote access solutions. Support network resilience, redundancy, and disaster recovery capabilities. Ensure network infrastructure aligns with cybersecurity standards and business continuity requirements. Maintain network documentation, diagrams, standards, and operational procedures. Incident, Problem & Change Management: Manage and resolve incidents within defined SLAs, ensuring high-quality updates and communication. Follow ITIL-driven processes for change, problem, and service performance management. Participate in root-cause analysis and continuous improvement activities. Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain security controls across infrastructure components in partnership with the security operations team. Remediate vulnerabilities, apply patches, and support Zero Trust principles where applicable. Ensure compliance with organisational, regulatory, and security standards. Project Delivery & Continuous Improvement: Support the delivery of infrastructure projects, upgrades, and migrations. Contribute to infrastructure modernisation initiatives, including cloud adoption/migration Identify opportunities for automation, optimisation, and simplification. Develop and maintain technical documentation, support guidelines, and runbooks.
