Site: The Harley Street Clinic & Leaders in Oncology Care, Central London
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week Monday-Friday, with contribution to on-call and weekend requirements
Contract Type: Fixed Term - Maternity Cover

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Specialist Pharmacist with specialist experience in Oncology and Haematology to join our Pharmacy Team at our Leaders in Oncology Care site, currently rated "Outstanding by the CQC. Our flagship hospital and outpatient centre in Central London, is dedicated to carrying out innovative, inpatient and day-case cancer treatment. It's fully equipped to deliver a range of cancer treatments in calm and comfortable surroundings.
Main duties of the job
As a Senior Specialist in Oncology and Haematology, you will participate in the delivery, management, and development of a high quality, proactive, cost effective, safe and responsive patient-centric systemic anti-cancer (SACT) pharmacy service. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with the Lead Pharmacist for Oncology and Haematology and other members of our multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that our patients are able to safely access the very latest treatments in oncology and haematology.

Job description Job responsibilities
To develop and maintain a pharmacy service that is proactive and responsive to the needs of patients and service users Provide a comprehensive clinical pharmaceutical service including prescription monitoring and supply, provision of drug information, evidence-based practice and patient counselling, including participation in ward rounds. Provide medicines advice and information to improve prescribing within the multidisciplinary team (MDT), using evidence-based medicine guidelines. To contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of policies, procedures, guidelines and standards aimed at improving medicines management and patient safety To contribute to the vision and development of Pharmacy Clinical Services and associated team development. To promote, develop and contribute to practice research. To establish links with HCA and external Pharmacists to benchmark medicines use and promote good networking practices. To undertake membership/representation within relevant internal and external clinical forums
Person Specification
Experience Essential
Experience in delivering a clinical pharmacy service to wards Previous experience of working in Oncology and haematology to an advanced level Practical experience in an Aseptic Production Unit & GMP
Qualifications Essential
MPharm or equivalent Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
Desirable
Post graduate diploma/masters in clinical pharmacy or willing to work towards
