Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 4 Physiotherapy Assistant Practitioner to join our friendly and dynamic Physiotherapy team, working across both Musculoskeletal (MSK) and Breast Care services.
The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred physiotherapy care, working alongside Physiotherapists and the wider multidisciplinary team. You will independently manage delegated aspects of patient care within agreed competencies, assisting patients with rehabilitation programmes, exercise prescription, education, and pre & post-operative recovery.
This varied role offers the opportunity to develop specialist skills within both MSK and Breast Care pathways while contributing to improving patient outcomes and experiences.
Main duties of the job
Deliver delegated physiotherapy interventions under the guidance of registered Physiotherapists. Support the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients with a range of musculoskeletal conditions. Assist in the management of pre & post-operative orthopaedic and breast surgery patients. Educate and motivate patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals. Maintain accurate and timely clinical records. Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and patient experience activities. Support the safe and effective running of clinics and therapy areas. Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to provide holistic patient care. Closing date of applications: 11 August 2026

Education, Training and Qualifications CPD Requirements Essential
NVQ Level III or equivalent qualification in Health & Social Care
Experience & Knowledge Essential
Experience working within therapies Knowledge of MSK conditions Experience providing advice and exercises. Knowledge of how an acute hospital runs outpatient services and awareness of the roles of the multi-disciplinary team.
Skills and Ability Essential
Able to work as a team member but also able self-motivate and work alone for periods of time. Able to use initiative and prioritise work. IT knowledge and skills and the ability and willingness to learn more as the service dictates.
Desirable
Experience of delivering education in a group setting
