Job summary The Respiratory Physiotherapy Team at St James Hospital in Leeds are looking for a committed and compassionate individual to join our team as a Physiotherapy Assistant on the general surgical wards.
Main duties of the job This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in supporting patients to regain their mobility, function and confidence as they recover from surgery and illness. In addition to managing your own caseload you would work closely with other members of the team to support a wide range of patients with more complex presentations in their rehabilitation.
You would have the chance to work alongside other members of the multi-disciplinary and to be involved in planning patients discharge to appropriate locations and planning appropriate support.
The post is Monday to Friday however we are open to discussions regarding flexible working patterns including part time hours.

What you will bring to the role Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to:
Assist the therapy staff in the rehabilitation of patients using a range of delegated therapy treatments.
Support the treatment of patients individually or in a group in a variety of settings working to set protocols and guidelines
Communicate effectively with a wide range of patients and the multi-disciplinary Team
Contribute to data collection and the ordering and maintenance of equipment.
