Job summary
We are seeking a part time (25hrs) receptionist to join our busy team. You will have a set working pattern and be expected to cover holidays and sickness. As a receptionist you will be the first person our patients meet, so we are looking for someone who is friendly, reliable and hardworking. You must be caring and empathetic whilst maintaining our Practice standards. This is a responsible role in a sometimes very challenging environment. Main duties of the job
The main role of the receptionist will be to answer the telephone lines efficiently and interact with patients at our front desk answering their queries. You will be expected to deal with repeat prescriptions, registering patients, appointments, tasks and many other admin jobs. Admin tasks will include dealing with emails, document management and read coding of clinical information.

The practice has 9600 patients, 3 GP partners, 1 Salaried GP, 1 ANP, 3 Nurses and 2 HCA's. Our practice list size has increased over the last 5yrs and continues to grow. We are a small but friendly GP practice and have an excellent team who work well together.

The following are the core responsibilities of the Receptionist. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
a. Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system
b. Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
c. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
d. Signpost patients to the correct service
e. Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies
f. Clinically code data on SystmOne
g. Photocopy documentation as required
h. Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
i. Input data into patients healthcare records as necessary
j. Direct requests for information, i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team
k. Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
l. Carry out system searches as requested
m. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
n. Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards
o. Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested

Qualifications Essential
Educated to GCSE level or equivalent Essential Excellent communication skills IT skills
