Job summary Are you a passionate and skilled nurse looking to specialise in continence care? Join our dynamic District Nursing teams and play a pivotal role in improving the quality of life for patients living with bladder and bowel conditions. As a District Nursing Continence Specialist Nurse, you will provide expert assessment, advice, and evidence-based interventions for individuals with bladder & bowel conditions within the community settings. Working both independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, you will support patients to maintain dignity, independence, and wellbeing in their own homes or care settings. This is a rewarding opportunity to develop specialist expertise while contributing to high-quality, patient-centred care across our community services. This is a fixed term role for 12 months due to new funding received, we would also consider offering this as a secondment for internal applicants.
Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work. Adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010 where required.
Main duties of the job
To provide information, training and support, to promote effective patient care and discharge from community nursing services. To provide expert assessment of patients in a community environment, including specialist continence assessment. To act as an information and educational resource to all members of the District Nursing service. Lead/deputise a service improvement project to promote continence within the service in line with national guidelines.

NMC Registered Nurse Level 2 Quality Improvement (QI) Experience and evidence of producing & delivering programmes of education IT skills with experience using Microsoft software packages

Leadership course Level 3 - Coaching Quality Improvement (QI) Frailty module District Nursing/Community Specialist
Experience Essential
Range of clinical experience, including continence care and promotion. Evidence of working with multi-disciplinary teams and other professionals
