Occupational Therapist - West Berkshire Community Hospital
Are you a passionate Occupational Therapist looking to develop your skills in rehabilitation? Join our supportive multidisciplinary team at West Berkshire Community Hospital, where you'll help adults regain independence and achieve the best possible outcomes following illness or injury.
In this rewarding role, you'll assess, treat and manage a varied caseload of patients with complex needs on our inpatient rehabilitation ward, delivering high-quality, person-centred care that supports patients to return home safely.

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm. Weekend working is not currently part of the service but may be introduced in the future.
We're looking for someone who has a degree in Occupational Therapy, a current HCPC registration and a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, as some sites are not reachable by public transport.

Main duties of the job
The post will be part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team within an inpatient setting which will offer assessment and treatment for patients in the west of Berkshire.
To provide supervision guidance to band 3 and 4 support workers in the therapy team. To make recommendations to the wider MDT and to support with education of students. To identify service developments, needs, contribute to the planning, development and evaluation of the service and have responsibility for defined projects. To be responsible for a complex caseload using an interdisciplinary, patient focused rehabilitative approach with support from the senior therapists.

Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy Registered with the HCPC
Continuous Professional Development Essential
Evidence in training in rehabilitation of older people Training in the equipment needs of older people Understanding of the models used in Occupational Therapy
Previous Experience Essential

Additional Requirements Essential
Must be a car driver Must have access to a suitable car for work purposes. Must be physically able to load/unload equipment in and out of a car boot (following individual and specific risk assessment). Ability to work flexibly as part of a 6-day rota if required.
