Job summary
We are seeking to recruit an experienced Supervisor to join our Hotel Services team at Woking Community Hospital. The role is rewarding and varied. You would be supervising the housekeeping team in addition to providing support to the Porters, and the catering team who cater for our inpatients and also staff and visitors in our cafe.
This is a full time post Monday to Friday inc. bank holidays. Shifts will generally be 7 am to 3 pm with the occasional requirement to work a late shift 11 am to 7 pm.

Main duties of the job
The Hotel Services Supervisors fulfil a critical role in ensuring we are able to provide our patients visitors and staff with a clean and safe environment, in line with the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 20205. The role includes responsibilities for Housekeeping, Catering, Portering and overseeing Laundry services.
Working as part of the Hotel Services and Estates team, some of the key duties include :
Effective day to day supervision and welfare of Hotel Services staff to facilitate the delivery of a quality service
Ensure the standards are checked by effective monitoring and deployment of staff, equipment and materials
To maintain agreed stock levels by efficient and timely placing orders and receipting of goods and materials.
Proactive approach to staff development and training and to support the annual appraisal process.

Qualifications Essential
1 Level 2/3 Diploma in Healthcare support services 2 Basic Food Hygiene Certificate 3 Good standard of numerical and literacy skills
Experience Essential
1 Previous experience in a similar supervisory role 2 Demonstrate knowledge of COSHH, Health and Safety and Infection 3 Prevention and control 4 evidence of application of Food Safety Knowledge
Desirable
1 Supervisory experience or other extensive Hotel Services experience within the NHS 2 Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen
Additional skills Essential
1 Be able to communicate clearly and effectively 2 IT literate 3. Able to prioritise and adapt to changing work demands
