Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Salaried GP for 4 sessions per week for a period of 12 months, starting 1st October 2026.
Maesteg Surgery is based in the Bridgend Valleys and is a friendly, part dispensing, GMS training practice. We are looking to appoint a highly motivated individual who will share our values and play an active role withing our Practice team.
We deliver comprehensive GMS and enhanced services to 8000 patients. The successful candidate will bring a passion for clinical care along with a strong desire to contribute to the development of the practice.

Main duties of the job
Clinical Duties Appointments, house visits, baby clinic, accurx triage list, dealing with queries from patients or other health care professionals,
On-call The salaried GP will be expected to carry out on call duties in accordance with the number of sessions worked.
Home Visits These are shared amongst the GP team or the Advanced paramedic Practitioner present on the day.
Administration/Paperwork This will arise both directly from own and practice caseload.
Coroners reports These are divided up equally amongst all clinicians including the salaried GP in accordance with the practice SOP.
Team Meetings The salaried GP will be expected to attend relevant Practice meetings, essential to the delivery of team-based care.
Personal CPD The salaried GP is expected to keep up to date with all Practice Protocols and policies associated with their job role.
Mentee opportunity if the salaried Dr is in the first 5 years post training they will have the opportunity to have one to one time with a partner in their admin time on their short surgery day to support them in their development as a salaried GP.

We have an excellent and supportive nursing and administrative team.

JCPTGP
Experience Essential
Experience Full vocational training in general practice Working within a multidisciplinary team Comprehensive understanding of clinical computer systems-EMIS and Electronic Prescribing Experience working in NHS General Practice Interest in quality improvement and service development
