Job summary
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly primary care team. The post holder will work under the supervision of the nursing team to provide high-quality patient care and support the delivery of clinical services within the practice.

Main duties of the job
Undertake routine clinical procedures including blood pressure monitoring, phlebotomy, ECGs, height and weight measurements, and health checks.Support chronic disease monitoring clinics in line with practice protocols.Assist with infection prevention and control procedures, including equipment cleaning and stock management.Prepare and maintain clinical rooms, ensuring appropriate supplies and equipment are available.Record accurate patient information within the clinical system.Promote patient health and wellbeing through advice and signposting where appropriate.Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver safe and effective patient care.

Essential
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent experience).Experience working in a healthcare setting
Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Understanding of patient confidentiality and safeguarding principles.
Desirable

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) or relevant healthcare experience. Evidence of ongoing professional development. Basic Life Support (BLS) training or willingness to undertake training.
Desirable
Previous experience in General Practice or Primary Care. Competency in phlebotomy, NHS Health Checks, ECGs, blood pressure monitoring and other HCA duties. Knowledge of EMIS Web or other GP clinical systems. Experience supporting patients with long-term conditions.
Experience Essential
Previous experience working in a healthcare, care, or patient-facing environment. Experience of providing direct patient care and support. Experience of maintaining accurate records and handling confidential information. Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
Desirable
