Main duties of the job

As a Dietetic Assistant you will work closely with Registered Dietitians to deliver high quality patient centred nutritional care across community settings. Your responsibilities will include: -

Assisting Dietitians with assessing and monitoring patients' nutritional needs Supporting patients by reinforcing dietetic advice and helping them work towards their nutritional goals Contributing to waiting list management, patient information resources and the oral nutritional supplement sample service Helping deliver group education sessions and health promotion activities Communicating effectively with patients, carers, GP practices, care homes, and wider MDT colleagues Maintaining accurate and timely documentation in line with Trust standards This role involves working flexibly across the locality.

Person Specification

Qualification & Knowledge Essential

NVQ III in health or social care or equivalent relevant academic knowledge and experience Working knowledge of relevant policy, legislation drivers and their application to clinical and service area

Skills and competencies Essential

Effective IT skills Able to work under the guidance of the polices and procedures and maintain the required mandatory training

Experience Essential

Experience of working with adults Appropriate knowledge/experience of working within mental health/learning disabilities or relevant clinical practice areas
