This Trust Doctor (ST1/2 Eq.) position in Paediatrics with Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is a hospital-based role at Yeovil District Hospital, providing an excellent opportunity to gain experience in acute paediatrics and neonatal care.
Role Highlights

Working Hours and Pattern
Full time (40 hours per week) Fixed term contract for 12 months
The post is part of a 1 in 7 Tier 1 rota, including:
Normal working days
Twilight shifts
Long days
Night shifts

Main duties of the job
Providing assessment, diagnosis and initial management of children and young people presenting with acute and ongoing healthcare needs.
Supporting consultant-led ward rounds and contributing to the ongoing care of patients on the children's ward
Caring for newborn infants, including babies requiring treatment and monitoring within the Special Care Baby Unit
Working closely with Tier 2 and Tier 3 paediatric doctors, nursing staff and allied health professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
Participating in a 1:7 full-shift rota, including day shifts, twilight shifts, long days, night shifts, weekends and on-call commitments.
Contributing to the assessment and management of children requiring acute paediatric review and treatment.

Full GMC registration with licence to practice MB BS or equivalent

APLS/EPALS/NLS or equivalent

Completed Foundation Year 1 level in the UK or equivalent Completed Foundation Year 2 level in the UK or equivalent Commitment to team approach and multidisciplinary working
