The Director of Catering & Convention Services is responsible for the strategic leadership, financial performance, and operational execution of all catering, conference services, and group event operations for a premier full-service Hyatt Regency resort. This role oversees a high-performing team responsible for planning and executing meetings, conventions, incentive programs, weddings, social events, and special functions while ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction, operational excellence, and profitability.
The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with extensive experience managing large-scale group business within a luxury or upper-upscale resort environment. This position requires strong commercial acumen, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate across all resort departments to deliver flawless event execution.
What are we looking for?
• Lead and develop the Catering Sales and Convention Services teams. • Drive catering and banquet revenue while maximizing profitability. • Oversee the planning and execution of meetings, conventions, weddings, and special events. • Build strong relationships with meeting planners and key clients. • Partner with Sales, Food & Beverage, Culinary, Rooms, Revenue Management, and Operations to ensure seamless event execution. • Manage departmental budgets, forecasts, labor, and productivity. • Ensure compliance with Hyatt brand standards and deliver outstanding guest satisfaction.
What are we looking for?
• 7–10 years of progressive Catering and Convention Services experience. • 3–5 years in a senior leadership role within a full-service hotel or resort. • Luxury or upper-upscale resort experience preferred. • Strong leadership, financial, and organizational skills. • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities. • Experience with large group and convention business is highly preferred.
