About this role
The Opportunity As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services across multiple jurisdictions. You will manage end-to-end payroll processing, support statutory and taxation obligations, administer expatriate payroll requirements, and ensure payroll-related financial controls are maintained. Working closely with Finance, People & Culture, external payroll providers, and employees, you will play a key role in ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, reporting integrity, and continuous process improvement.
About You Payroll Operations
• Process payroll accurately and on time in accordance with statutory requirements, company policies, and payroll systems.
• Administer end-to-end payroll activities, including employee changes, terminations, leave processing, allowances, deductions, and other payroll transactions.
• Maintain current knowledge of employment legislation, remuneration, taxation, and superannuation requirements.
• Complete year-end payroll processing and reporting activities in compliance with relevant regulations.
• Manage annual payroll projects, including bonus and performance payment processing.
Compliance & Reconciliations
• Prepare, balance, and reconcile statutory and non-statutory disbursements.
• Support payroll reconciliations, general ledger balancing, and financial reporting requirements.
• Ensure payroll records and reporting obligations are accurate and compliant.
• Escalate issues related to leave management, payroll discrepancies, and reporting irregularities where appropriate.
Expatriate Payroll Administration
• Process payroll for expatriate employees across multiple jurisdictions.
• Coordinate international assignee payments and tax declarations, ensuring compliance and timely delivery.
Stakeholder Management
• Provide high-quality support and service to employees, managers, and external stakeholders.
• Respond to payroll-related queries professionally and efficiently, escalating matters as required.
• Partner closely with Finance and People & Culture teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.
Continuous Improvement
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, efficiency, and service quality.
• Contribute to Finance projects and support initiatives that promote innovation and operational excellence.
• Champion a collaborative "One Beca" approach by sharing knowledge and supporting team success.
About You We're looking for someone who combines strong technical payroll capability with a proactive, service-oriented mindset. You Will Bring
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or relevant discipline
• Minimum 7 years working experience in relevant field
• Previous payroll processing experience, ideally within a complex or multi-jurisdiction environment.
• Sound understanding of payroll legislation, taxation, employment law, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Strong reconciliation and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High levels of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
• A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on quality, efficiency, and accuracy.
• The ability to build positive working relationships across teams and stakeholders.
