At Aviva Services Excellence Centre, we're looking for an experienced DevOps & Architecture Manager to lead a team of DevOps Engineers and Solution Architects supporting strategic initiatives across Aviva's UK business. This role is ideal for a technology leader who enjoys building high-performing teams and driving DevOps excellence. You'll have the opportunity to influence both technology and people, helping shape the future of cloud engineering and architecture at Aviva. What will you be doing?
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of DevOps Engineers and Solution Architects
• Provide both strategic direction and technical guidance to ensure high-quality delivery
• Drive adoption of modern DevOps practices, cloud technologies, automation, and CI/CD pipelines
• Promote a culture of ownership, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
• Execute recruitment, performance management, coaching, and career development within the team
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders across international teams
• Guide the design and delivery of secure, resilient, and scalable cloud-native solutions
• Contribute to architectural decisions, operational excellence, and cost optimisation initiatives
What We're Looking For
• 5+ years of experience leading technical teams within DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Software Development, or Architecture
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Strong understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD practices, and modern software engineering
• Experience with the following technologies will be plus:
• AWS and/or Azure
• Kubernetes (EKS)
• Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Helm
• Terraform, Packer
• Ansible, Puppet
• Bash and/or PowerShell
• Knowledge of modern architectural patterns and cloud-native solutions
• Experience working in Agile, cross-functional, and multinational environments
