Category Learning and Development Closing Date 11 August 2026 The Lead Coach will update, deliver, and oversee high‑quality training for the George Training Academy. This role ensures that all learners—new starters, and existing colleagues - develop the skills, behaviours and knowledge required to excel in a fast‑paced retail environment. The Lead Coach will mentor a team of coaches, maintain training standards, partner closely with stakeholders, and uphold the academy’s reputation for excellence in professional development.

Key Responsibilities

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner with senior leadership team and business partner to align training to business needs.

• Provide insights and recommendations to drive business capability and performance improvements.

• Communicate progress, challenges, risks and training impact to leadership team.

• Identifies HiPo talent and feed into calibration. Training Delivery

• Deliver engaging learning content across all departments within George Head office.

• Able to flex delivery and facilitation style, depending on audience experience, and medium of delivery

• Keeps up to date with fashion trends, trading conditions, and functional systems and processes to ensure training materials remain accurate and relevant. • Assess learner competence using structured evaluation methods. Academy Operations

• Coordinate training schedules, academy calendars, and cohort planning.

• Monitor attendance, performance, and progression metrics.

• Maintain all training materials, equipment and digital resources.

• Ensure compliance with accreditation or apprenticeship requirements (if applicable).

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

• Review learner feedback and training data to refine content and improve delivery.

• Actively monitors wider retail industry developments and learning‑and‑development best practice to continually elevate the quality of the academy’s programmes. • Lead pilot sessions, programme reviews, and curriculum updates. Team Leadership & Management

• Lead, coach, and support a team of academy coaches and facilitators.

• Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews and professional development sessions for coaching colleagues.

• Ensure coaching standards remain consistent across all programmes.

• Foster a positive, learner-focused culture that promotes continuous improvement.

• Runs in weekly “hot wash” to evaluate SWOT on previous week’s training

• Ensures actions points from ‘hotwash’ are followed up and completed. Skills, Experience & Qualifications Essential

• Proven experience in training, and /or coaching,

• Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.

• Experience managing or mentoring teams.

• Knowledge of fashion retail business and departmental functions

• Strong organisational and planning skills.

• Ability to evaluate data to assess impact of training and drive continuous improvement

Desirable

• Certification in Learning & Development, Coaching, or Training (CIPD, L&D Level 5/7, or equivalent).

• Experience delivering apprenticeship or accredited training programmes.

• Digital learning delivery experience (virtual facilitation).
