About this role

Join us as we transform immunology and deliver medicines that help autoimmune patients get their lives back. argenx is preparing for multi-dimensional expansion to reach more patients through a rich pipeline of differentiated assets, led by VYVGART, our first-in-class neonatal Fc receptor blocker approved for the treatment of gMG, and with the potential to treat patients across dozens of severe autoimmune diseases.

We are building a new kind of biotech company, one that maintains its roots as a science-based start-up and pushes our commitment to innovate across all corners of our business. We strive to inspire and grow our company, our partnerships, our science, and our people, because when we do, we deliver more for patients. Why this role exists

argenx is scaling — from one commercial product to a global multi-indication portfolio. As the portfolio grows, our partner ecosystem has to grow with it — with more scale, agility, and room for co-creation. The Specialized Sourcing Lead builds and leads that capability across the GxP areas of argenx — Technical Operations & CMC, Development, and Preclinical Research — not as a gatekeeping function, but as a genuine accelerator of pipeline, resilience, speed, and patient impact.

What you will own

TechOps & CMC supply ecosystem building Build the CDMO and CMC partner network that delivers clinical and commercial DS/DP at the quality, cost, and speed our portfolio demands. • Design a resilient network: capacity planning, dual/multi-source where it matters, commercial launch readiness, mitigation of single-source dependencies. • Own the long-term external manufacturing strategy across clinical and commercial phases — balancing innovation, resilience, quality, capacity, cost, and optionality.

Development & Preclinical partner networks • Shape the CRO and clinical partner network that supports a growing global trial portfolio at scale, enabling innovative designs and faster start-up. • Build the preclinical CRO and specialized lab network (toxicology, bioanalytical, biomarkers, discovery) that accelerates early science. • Bring sourcing activity previously spread across the organization into one clear, empowered team.

The way we source, together • Move from centralized gatekeeping to empowered cross-functional teams that own selection, contracting, onboarding, and lifecycle close to the work. • Simplify and connect Source-to-Pay with the new global Procurement organization, Finance, Digital Technology, and Legal. • Deploy agentic AI and modern sourcing tools where they meaningfully improve speed and quality — not as a project, but as part of how the team works. • Define clean interfaces with Alliance Leadership, BD, Quality, Regulatory, and Global Procurement, so it is always clear who does what.

External view, and the team • Track emerging technologies, new players, and disruptive partnership models; explore co-creation, risk-share, and breakthrough structures where they unlock real value. • Lead a senior, experienced team; broaden scope and remit deliberately so more strategic work moves closer to the business. • Invest in talent — stretch assignments, mentorship, a real Personal Development Plan agenda for every team member. • Set the standard: outcomes over transactions, co-ownership with partners, transparency, trust.

Where you sit, and what good looks like

You report to the VP Corporate Development & Strategy, inside the Corporate Development community alongside Strategy, Business Development, Alliance Leadership, and argenx China. You work in tight partnership with TechOps, Development / Clinical Operations, and Preclinical Research; with CTIO, CMO, Head of Development and CSO leadership teams; with Finance and the new global Procurement organization; with Alliance Leadership and BD; and with Quality, Regulatory, Legal, and Compliance. You lead through clarity and impact, not hierarchy. • Our partner ecosystem keeps pace with an accelerating pipeline — no single-source surprises, no capacity cliffs, no bottlenecks that slow down patients. • Sourcing decisions happen closer to the business, faster, with better information. • Business partners in TechOps, Development, and Preclinical experience this team as an accelerator, not a gate. • The team is known internally and externally as a place where senior talent grows.

What you bring

• ~15 years of progressive strategic and operational sourcing, including 7+ years leading senior teams in biotech, pharma, or another highly regulated, science-driven industry. • Deep experience sourcing and managing scientific and technical partners — DS/DP CDMOs, clinical CROs, preclinical CROs — in GxP environments. TechOps/CMC exposure is the strongest signal. • Strategic without being detached: you connect long-term partner strategy to what teams do next week. Strong commercial and negotiation instincts, backed by scientific and technical fluency. • Genuinely curious about AI and modern sourcing tooling, and willing to change your own workflows. • Trust-first with partners: candid, respectful, hard on the problem and easy on the people. You lead through influence, clarity, and impact — not control. • Degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or related. Advanced degree welcome, not required.
