POSITION SUMMARY:

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for promoting Arapahoe Basin’s image as an employer of choice to staff and prospective hires. This position works with managers to hire qualified and diverse employees to meet our company’s current and future needs while providing the highest quality experience for all candidates. This position supports the employer brand and belonging sourcing strategy. Responsible for managing the efforts and programs focused on enhancing the employee experience and level of engagement. This position reports to the HR Manager and works closely with the Marketing department to ensure that employment brand and recruiting goals are aligned.

WAGE:

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high ends of Arapahoe Basin’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, and responsibilities. The range listed is just one component of Arapahoe Basin’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.

Salary range: $57,784 - $74,868/annually

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Promotes and ensures an intentional diverse recruiting process to hire unique individuals who bring multiple perspectives and individuality to our culture

• Act as a steward of the company culture and values by demonstrating best practices and mindsets to facilitate a culture of accountable, high-performing and engaged employees

• Creates and shares job ads on various online channels, job boards, social media groups, professional communities, etc.

• Reports and evaluates the company recruiting impact, recruitment marketing progress, trends, and best practices

• Collaborate with managers to understand their hiring needs and conduct training to ensure compliance in their hiring practices

• Ensure hiring managers are reaching out to applicants in a timely and consistent manner

• Facilitate screening and interviewing qualified candidates to fill open positions where needed or to support hiring manager

• Track employee housing needs during the recruiting process and place new-hires in the appropriate unit based on their housing application

• Track employee housing bed availability for eligible departments

• Track employee onboarding, including Background check completion and housing security deposit payments, as employees approach their start date. Send reminder messaging as needed to ensure a smooth start for new hires.

• Assist the F&B Sr. Manager with H2B and J-1 recruiting processes

• Ensure confidentiality and security of applicant data; maintain data integrity in all work processes to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations

• Keep track of recruiting metrics such as staffing reports, sourcing reports, and referral bonus program

• Support managers with job descriptions and interview questions that reflect each position’s requirements

• Conduct new hire and re-hire orientations to ensure a positive welcoming experience

• Be an active member of the 7-day-a-week HR operation; assist with a variety of other HR duties including: data entry, perks and benefits administration, compliance, employee housing, internal communication via Field Guide, planning employee events, assisting in onboarding and offboarding duties, etc.

• Drive internal brand advocacy across A-Basin, equipping employees at every level to promote us as an exciting place to work

• Follow all departmental sustainability guidelines

• Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• The ideal candidate has recruiting experience

• 1 year of administration, HR, or supervisory experience

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and public speaking ability

• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills

• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality

• Ability to act with integrity and professionalism

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software, proficiency with HRIS system or ability to learn organization’s HRIS system (Workday)

• Ability to speak, read, and write in English

• Must be available on weekends and holidays

• This position requires successful completion of Motor Vehicle Record and criminal background check

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must withstand high-altitude conditions at all times

• Ability to sit, stand, and navigate stairs

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• This position will mostly work indoors – in an office setting while using a computer. This role works in an office located in a high-alpine environment in all types of weather conditions. There is frequent interaction with employees, both electronically and in-person. There is a high amount of traffic through the HR offices throughout the day. Traveling and riding a chairlift may be required for this role.
