Job Description
• Proxy Voting and Reporting • Learn and apply our proxy voting policy to individual securities • Perform in-depth research and analysis on proxy proposals • Liaise and communicate with investment teams on proxy proposals • Ensure timely execution of proxy votes • Compile proxy reports and statistics
• Research • Contribute to the development of AB’s proxy voting policy by identifying emerging topics and best practices in corporate governance • Contribute to the development of thought leadership by researching and developing corporate governance content
• Engagement • Assist in the engagement process with issuer management teams • Prepare for engagements through research on issues and question formulation • Work with investors and Responsible Investing team to plan and conduct engagements
• Integration • Liaise with analysts and portfolio teams on material ESG topics • Help analysts and portfolio teams with specific engagements, issues and research • Assist investment teams by developing an industry specialization and acting as the point person within the Responsible Investment team for sector-specific ESG queries
Job Qualifications We are seeking candidates with significant academic achievement, intellectual curiosity and a demonstrated interest in both responsible investing and financial services
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • A collegial work style and a willingness to perform a wide range of tasks • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively • Detail-oriented, ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment • Undergrad degree and 3-5 years’ work experience in responsible investing, sustainability or corporate governance field.
