What we want The Research Assistant provides skilled, administrative, and technical support in research. Assists with phases in a research project. Assists in preparing proposals for funding agencies, operations of research equipment, and other lab/personnel in research. Collaborate with other research personnel. This is a wage position established to accommodate a temporary organizational need. As such, TAMU does not guarantee any set number of hours or length of employment in this role

Responsibilities Research
• Assist with data management, curation, and organization for ongoing research projects.
• Conduct data cleaning, coding, and quality assurance for secondary datasets.
• Assist with quantitative data analyses under the supervision of the PI.
• Provides general support in organizing, scheduling, and coordinating program activities across multiple projects.
• Assists with routine data entry, documentation, and maintaining accurate records.
• Uses computers and software tools to track information, prepare materials, and support program operations.
• Helps compile and summarize information for reports, meetings, and program updates.
Research Publications
• Prepare reports, tables, figures, and summaries of research findings.
• Assist with manuscript preparation, literature reviews, reference management, and formatting for publication.
• Support dissemination activities, including conference abstracts, presentations, posters, and other research products.
Plans and implements strategies to attract and retain Center customers
• Assists the Center director in developing and implementing strategies to identify potential customers
• Conducts market analyses and environmental scanning to identify threats and opportunities for current and future business opportunities
• Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of data, services, and products created by the TT&IC
Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in a collaborative research environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
• Data analysis skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot.
