Position Summary
As a key member of the Civil Engineering and Design Team, the Civils CAD Designer will perform CAD activities to support HKN's operations in Iraq and international operations.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Performance Expectations:
• Follow and maintain Civil Department CAD systems to recognised industry standards including setting up drawing templates, X-ref library and drafting procedures.
• Day-to-day preparation and updating of 3D civil models, including importing survey data to generate terrain models.
• Day-to-day preparation of conceptual and detailed engineering drawings for civil works including roads, earthworks, fencing, utilities, buildings and foundations.
• Red-line mark ups and preparation of as-built drawings.
• Assisting with the preparation of bills of quantities for cost estimating.
• Assisting with the preparation and evaluation of tender packages for civil and building works.
• Document control of engineering deliverables.
• Monitoring and control of progress to ensure deliverables are completed in accordance with project schedules
Competency (Knowledge & Skills) Required:
• Proven experience of producing CAD drawings and 3D models for earthworks, roadworks, fencing, utilities and reinforced concrete etc.
• Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat, MS Word and Excel. (Knowledge of other MS Office packages would be a plus).
• Knowledge and proven experience of AutoDesk products (AutoCAD, Civil 3D etc)
• Visual awareness and an eye for detail.
• Strong numerical skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Fluent in English – written and oral.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Qualifications Expected / Required:
• 5+ years hands-on experience in AutoCad 2D and 3D civil packages in the energy sector.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related subject would be a plus.
• Experience of civil engineering design concepts & principles would be a plus.
Physical Requirements
• This position will involve field trips. Must be in good physical condition and willing to visit Company's remote facilities for short trips, including overnight stays in Company accommodation.
