Your primary duties and responsibilities will be:
· Operate commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, box trucks, or other specified vehicles, in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
· Plan routes and schedules to meet delivery deadlines while optimizing fuel efficiency and minimizing downtime.
· Maintain accurate records of trips, including driver logs, mileage, and delivery receipts.
· Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, including hours-of-service requirements.
· Communicate effectively with supervisor to provide updates on delivery status and address any issues or delays.
· Assist with the loading and unloading of cargo, as needed, and ensure the accurate counting and inspection of freight.
· Maintain a clean and organized truck, inside and out, and perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks.
· Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe driving practices.
· Organize and move trailers around the distribution yard
· Ensure contents are properly secured to prevent breakage or damage
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Understanding of safety procedures and guidelines
· Forklift certification; CDL certification
· Flexibility to work occasional overtime and weekends as needed.
· Experience driving a large company van or truck preferred
· Must pass a background check and drug test
· Comfortable maneuvering and parking a large vehicle
· Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful
· Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
