About this role
Responsibilities
• Receive and inspect incoming shipments of supplies, materials, and equipment.
• Verify the accuracy of received items by comparing them to purchase orders and packing slips, noting any discrepancies or damages.
• Sort, label, and store items in designated locations within the storeroom.
• Maintain accurate inventory records by updating stock levels and recording information such as item descriptions, quantities, and locations.
• Monitor stock levels and anticipate future needs to ensure adequate supply availability.
• Conduct regular inventory counts and perform periodic audits to reconcile physical stock with recorded inventory.
• Identify and report any expired, damaged, or low-quality items for proper disposal or replacement.
• Assist in the organization and cleanliness of the storeroom, ensuring that all items are stored in a safe and accessible manner.
• Collaborate with other departments to fulfill supply requests and ensure timely delivery of items.
• Prepare and pack items for shipping, ensuring proper documentation and labeling are in place.
• Follow established safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment within the storeroom.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, new products, and improvements in storage and inventory management practices.
Storeroom Attendant Required Skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
• Excellent attention to detail to detect discrepancies and ensure the quality of received items.
• Proficient computer skills and experience with inventory management software.
• Good communication skills to liaise with suppliers, colleagues, and other departments.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy items.
• Problem-solving skills to resolve stock-related issues and implement process improvements.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in storeroom operations.
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in a storeroom or warehouse environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and procedures.
• Basic knowledge of MS Office applications, such as Excel and Word.
