One of our key partners is Orbit, a major housing provider in the Midlands, East Anglia, and the South East, managing over 45,000 homes.
Together, MPS and Orbit ensure residents receive timely, high-quality repairs and maintenance, with a strong emphasis on customer care, safety, and long-term value.
About the Roles:
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Multi-Skilled Operative with strong plastering experience to join our responsive repairs team in Hastings covering Hastings to Brighton. This is a hands-on role working across occupied social housing properties, delivering high-quality repairs with plastering as your core trade, alongside supporting works across other trades as required.
You’ll be completing day-to-day repairs following leaks, maintenance works, and general wear and tear, ensuring properties are left safe, secure, and finished to a high standard. This role suits someone who takes pride in their workmanship, works well independently, and understands the importance of good customer service when working in residents’ homes.
Key Duties
Carry out day-to-day responsive repairs across social housing propertiesWill be required to carry our damp and mould dutiesComplete patch plastering, skimming, and making good to walls and ceilingsRepair plaster damage following leaks, damp, or previous maintenance worksEnsure finishes are left to a high standard, ready for decorationUndertake basic domestic plumbing repairs including leaks, taps, toilets, wastes, and pipeworkComplete minor tiling repairs, sealing, and finishing works linked to repairsCarry out basic locksmith duties such as lock changes and securing propertiesComplete general making-good works following repairs across all tradesWork professionally and sensitively within occupied homesAccurately record works completed using handheld devicesIdentify and report any additional works or safeguarding concernsParticipate in an out-of-hours emergency call-out rota where requiredMaintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment Role Criteria:
Proven experience in plastering, including patching, skimming and making goodExperience working within domestic or social housing repairsExperience in Damp and Mould dutiesAbility to carry out multi-skilled works, including basic plumbing, wall/floor tiling and minor locksmith duties to support repairsWillingness to assist and support additional trades alongside plastering worksComfortable managing jobs independently from start to finishStrong attention to detail with a right first time approachProfessional and customer-focused manner when working in residents’ homesGood understanding of health & safety proceduresConfident using handheld devices for job updates and reportingFull UK driving licenceOwn hand toolsWillingness to join an out-of-hours emergency rota Benefits we can offer you.
