POSITION TITLE: BEHAVIOR SUPPORT COACH REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF STUDENT SERVICES OVER-TIME STATUS: EXEMPT PAY GRADE: 710 JOB SUMMARY: Performs difficult professional and intermediate administrative work coordinating, planning and assisting with Office of Youth Risk Prevention, Title I, and the Chief Academic Officer. This is sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects; work requires fingering, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is not subject to adverse environmental conditions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Assist staff in defining and measuring behavior; understanding principles of reinforcement; teaching new behavior; implementing strategies for weakening behavior; and identifying antecedents · Design Behavior Interventions Plans that address classroom organization, social skills instruction, and School-wide Positive Behavioral Support

• Use ongoing assessments to maintain a record of student progress

• Provide recognition of a variety of student accomplishments and positive behaviors

• Conduct conflict resolution and peer mediation sessions

• Support the sustainability and expansion of PBIS practices and character education to identified schools· Support school leadership behavior teams

• Provide ongoing training, coaching, and support to building level PBIS Coaches

• Collect and monitor school databases to track and analyze student behavior data

• Participate in regional/statewide PBIS leadership conferences and meetings to support PBIS initiatives

JOB SPECIFICATIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: General knowledge of techniques needed to successfully complete effective Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), function –based interventions, and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).Possess a high caliber of expertise in counseling and student and family support; Ability to work on multiple projects and respond to requests and deadlines in an accurate, timely manner; Demonstrated written and oral communication skills; and excellent interpersonal/human relations skills. This is light work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects; work requires climbing, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, fingering, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of motor vehicles or equipment, and determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme cold, noise, and vibration. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Work, Counseling, Special Education, or related field as required.
