Barr Approved Date: April 2, 2001 SUMMARY Examines and analyzes accounting records to determine financial status of organization and prepares financial reports concerning operating procedures by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Conducts operational, financial, and EDP audits.

• Conducts internal control reviews.

• Inspects items in books of original entry to determine if accepted accounting procedure was followed in recording transactions.

• Counts cash on hand, inspects notes receivable and payable, negotiable securities, and cancelled checks.

• Verifies journal and ledger entries of cash and check payments, purchases, expenses, and trial balances by examining and authenticating inventory items.

• Prepares reports for management concerning scope of audit, financial conditions found, and source and application of funds.

• Makes recommendations regarding improving operations and financial position of company.

• Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Master's Degree; six to ten years job-related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, and the public. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS A CIA or CPA Certification is preferred for this position.
