Teacher Job Description Language for posting: Mountain Valley Community School is seeking an enthusiastic, student-centered educator to join our elementary team as a 1st Grade Teacher. We are looking for an individual who is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every child is supported academically, socially, and emotionally. ? The successful candidate will: ? Plan and deliver high-quality, standards-based instruction. ? Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students. ? Create a positive classroom culture built on respect, high expectations, and meaningful relationships. ? Use assessment data to inform instruction and monitor student growth. ? Collaborate effectively with grade-level colleagues, special educators, interventionists, specialists, and families. ? Integrate social-emotional learning and positive behavior supports into daily instruction. ? Demonstrate flexibility, professionalism, and a commitment to continuous improvement. ? Participate actively in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and other collaborative school initiatives. Qualifications: ? Valid Maine Department of Education Teacher Certification (020 – Elementary Education), or eligibility for certification. ? Knowledge of evidence-based literacy and mathematics instruction at the primary level. ? Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. ? Experience with differentiated instruction, inclusive practices, and collaborative
teaching is preferred. Application Procedure: ?
