POSITION SUMMARY: The HR Assistant provides administrative support to the Division of Human Resources by supporting preemployment and onboarding processes. The incumbent will provide customer service by responding to all inquiries received through all methods of communication. This position reports to the HR Manager. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides customer support to Human Resources customers through various means of communication i.e., in person, telephonically, and via email. Responds to inquiries from applicants, employees, and internal and external stakeholders and, when appropriate, directs individuals to the appropriate department or resource. Facilitates Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9) through the use of the PowerSchool Records Portal and completes E-Verify reporting requirements. Assists with pre-employment and onboarding activities by supporting interview scheduling, HR data entry, employment document collection, and other onboarding processes. Serves as the designated backup to the HR Receptionist when necessary. Supports applicants in navigating the SchoolSpring application portal. Assists with updating the Applicant Tracking platform. Responsible for supporting various Human Resources events taking place during evenings and weekends. All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services. KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or GED certificate required. Minimum of two (2) years' experience working in an office setting performing administrative duties required. Makes administrative decisions which affect internal operations of the department as well as the operations of the schools and the District. Light independent judgment is necessary. Decisions made on an as-needed basis to establish operation of the office. Requires regular contact with internal and external stakeholders. Verbal, written, and interpersonal skills required. Applies, recommends, and implements technology knowledge (spreadsheets, word processing, and database management) and concepts to improve the effectiveness of the Division. Responsibility for the Welfare of Others: Constant (Daily) - to exercise the duty of care and protection of the health, safety, security, welfare, well-being, and best interests of the district's various stakeholders. Normal office setting. Light duty - On most occasions sitting at a desk or table; intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. Light lifting or carrying twenty (20) lbs. or less. NOTE: This is a Grade 21, 225-day position with a salary range of $39,702 - $61,023. Final salary placement within this range is determined based on individual credentials, years of relevant experience, and the guidelines outlined in the CCPS Compensation Handbook found here.
