2102 Delavan Drive, West Des Moines, Iowa WDMCS is seeking school bus drivers to join our team for the school year. These full-time positions work a minimum of 6 hours per day during the school year (6am-9am, 2pm-5pm). There are many opportunities for additional hours! Increased wages available if you have prior years of experience driving K-12 school buses. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Provide transportation in accordance with District policy and procedure as well as local, state and federal laws and regulations.
• Follow designated routes accurately, in accordance with time schedules and stops.
• Conduct safe and orderly loading and unloading of students.
• Maintain order and discipline on the school bus at all times.
• Perform routine operator maintenance to including but not limited to: pre/post inspections, sweeping interior, wiping upholstery, cleaning windshields, reporting equipment defects and presenting bus for maintenance.
• Participate in all training pertaining to the job.
• Report all accidents immediately to the Transportation Supervisor or designee.
• Complete and submit daily mileage, student conduct/incident or other reports and documentation as required.
• Keep and handle all student information in a confidential manner.
• Maintain route books, keep organized with current information.
• Operate a school bus or other district vehicles safely at all times.
• Participate in all required drug and alcohol testing.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Operate vehicles during inclement weather.
• Complete all safety training as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
