QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or GED Diploma.
• Associate degree OR obtained a passing score on one of the ADE approved assessments.
• Current First Aid and CPR card.
REPORTS TO: Special Education Teacher TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 9 months RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provides remedial instruction to reinforce teacher's instruction on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to facilitate growth towards the student's IEP goals and objectives.
• Supervises the students in activity centers.
• Assists with monitoring and charting the student's progress towards achievement of IEP goals and objectives.
• Assist students with toileting, feeding, dressing, mobility, and hygiene needs.
• Participates in scheduled meetings, screenings, and progress report meetings and provides input in the development of appropriate ongoing resource placements and services.
• Participates in in-service training programs set up by the school district as deemed necessary and appropriate to upgrade training and skills.
• Assist students in completing class assignments.
• Fulfills bus duties including riding and supervision on buses (when necessary) and during bus loading and unloading.
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
• Fulfill other duties as assigned.
EVALUATION: Performance of this special education aide will be evaluated twice each school year in accordance with provisions of Board policies.
