TITLE: MEDIA SPECIALIST QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Kentucky Certificate with proper endorsements.

REPORTS: Principal SUPERVISES: Library Clerk JOB GOAL: To provide students with an enriched library environment in which intellectual growth can occur, and to assist teachers with teaching and educational projects. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Makes library facility and resources available to students and teacher on an “as need” basis.

• Maintains an effective program providing appropriate, accurate and current resources in all formats to meet the needs of the school community.

• Catalogs and inventories all resources and equipment, maintains a variety of records, documents and files as required by school or district policies, state or federal law or as assigned by the Principal.

• Plans and budgets to effectively utilize available funds.

• Informs administration of current professional and technological resource needs in support of the curriculum.

• Uses technology to support instruction; access and manipulate data; enhance professional growth and productivity; communicate and collaborate with colleagues, parents and the community; and conduct research/solve problems.

• Provides an inviting, accessible and stimulating place for individual and group use; shares resources across the school community.

• Participates in school-related activities, programs or meetings as assigned by the Principal and/or Superintendent.

• Adheres to school, district, state and federal policies, regulations and laws.

• Participates in required training relative to job assignment, supervisor approved professional growth plan, school/district initiatives, or as directed by the Principal.

• Supervises students to ensure student safety.

• Provides professional leadership within the school, community, and education profession to improve student learning as well as support district and state initiatives.

• Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Principal or the Superintendent.

TERM OF SERVICE: Salary and workdays to be established by the Board. EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel.
