About this role
General Description Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Student Support Services, the Homebound/Home-Based Teacher provides in-person instruction to students who are unable to attend school due to medical (homebound) or disciplinary (home-based) reasons. The teacher collaborates with classroom teachers and the Out-of-School Support Program to ensure continuity of instruction, monitors student progress, maintains required documentation, and communicates regularly with school staff and families. Essential Duties
• Provide in-person instruction in student homes or other approved locations.
• Deliver instruction aligned with classroom assignments and learning objectives.
• Maintain accurate attendance, progress, and instructional records.
• Communicate regularly with school staff, students, and families.
• Implement accommodations and modifications as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Must possess a valid Virginia teaching license and a valid driver's license. Special Education endorsement and availability during the regular school day are preferred. Candidates must be able to provide in-person instruction at student homes or other approved locations, use instructional technology effectively, communicate clearly both orally and in writing, work independently, and maintain confidentiality. Terms of Employment This is a part-time, hourly position compensated at $50.00 per hour. Assignments are based on student needs and division requirements.
