POSITION SUMMARY: Has oversight in the effective delivery of the boys track and field program. Provides sports activity supervision, training and coaching to student athletes. Develops individuals according to their abilities and encourages them to sustain activity levels. Delivers core movement and sport specific skills training. Head Coach position reports to the School Site Athletic Director and Principal. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Instructs and coaches students on the fundamentals of track and field. Works with the coaching staff with setting rules, policies and regulations for the team. Has oversight in proper registration of athletes. Has oversight with coordinating and monitoring try-outs. Has oversight with coordinating and supervising practice schedule. Has oversight or assists in the supervisory control over athletes and teams assigned. Guides and encourages secondary school age student athletes to make appropriate decisions about further participation in sport(s) at a level appropriate to their ability. Works closely with other staff to coordinate completion and opportunities. Initiates where appropriate. Works with other partners to help monitor the impact of delivery and healthy lifestyles. All other duties as assigned and required in order to perform the above services.
