About this role
The Madison-Champaign Educational Service Center is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and student-focused Elementary Paraprofessional to support students and teachers in an elementary school setting. The paraprofessional works under the direction of a licensed teacher to provide academic, behavioral, and instructional support while helping foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment where all students can succeed. Essential Responsibilities
• Assist the classroom teacher with daily instructional activities and lesson implementation.
• Provide one-on-one and small-group academic support as directed by the teacher.
• Support students with behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques.
• Assist students with classroom assignments, organization, and engagement in learning activities.
• Help supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, field trips, and other school functions.
• Assist students with personal care needs, as required by individual student plans.
• Prepare instructional materials and maintain an organized classroom environment.
• Collect student data and maintain accurate documentation as directed.
• Collaborate effectively with teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families when appropriate.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student records and information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must meet Ohio Department of Education and Workforce paraprofessional requirements or be eligible to obtain appropriate certification/licensure.
• Experience working with elementary-aged children or students with diverse learning needs is preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to lift, assist, and actively engage with students throughout the school day.
